St Luke’s is a Church of England Primary Academy, within the Staffordshire University Academies Trust. We deliver excellent learning, nurture and pastoral care for primary aged children within the village of Endon, the surrounding district and parts of the City of Stoke-on-Trent. The school motto, ‘Helping Lights Shine For All’ emphasises our focus on the uniqueness of every child, our belief and commitment to gospel values and a determination to meet the needs and extend the potential of each child, for the benefit of all.
Our school is dynamic in its pursuit of ensuring that every child feels valued and known; has a sense of belonging; and is confident in the knowledge that they are both safe and cared for. Our children have a powerful and effective voice, and through our empowering approaches to learning and personal development, they develop the skills needed to effect change for the benefit of everybody. Providing the power and confidence to make effective choices is at the heart of all we do.
We strive to make learning irresistible and encourage our children to deliberately reach out and grab it – taking ownership of their learning journey. We actively challenge any notion of fixed ability labelling or identities, and through the ‘Five Bes’ that underpin the excellent behaviour in our school, we encourage everyone to take on new challenges and risks, and to be the best they can be. We aim to find, develop and polish-up the talents your child will have, and help shape these in support of others.
Our parents are encouraged to be actively involved in school life, through Celebration Assemblies, performances, sports events, providing additional reading opportunities and the highly committed Parents Association. We have strong links within the community, particularly through the St Luke’s Parish Church, Methodist Church, local societies and the local cluster of schools, including Endon High School. Genuine care and collaboration are key to working together for the benefit of our community.
We hope the information on our website will give you a sense of our school and answer many of your initial questions. However, we would be very happy to share with you how our school works in practice and encourage you to arrange a visit through the school office, if you would like to find out more.
