The staff and governors are proud of our school and we believe it to be an excellent place to learn and grow.
St Luke’s is a Church of England Voluntary Controlled Primary School for boys and girls aged 4 - 11 serving the village of Endon and surrounding district, including parts of the City of Stoke-on-Trent. The School’s Motto, “Together, in faith, we shall succeed” stress the uniqueness of the individual child, our belief in gospel values and a commitment to the best possible education for your child.
We are a safe, happy school where children have fun. A place where self-esteem and confidence are developed and grown, where there is an emphasis on high expectations and academic standards appropriate to the child’s abilities and where a rich, vibrant environment supports pupils learning. We want children to enjoy acquiring and using knowledge and skills, to question and explore, to develop positive attitudes, behaviour and personal beliefs.
Every child is important to us and we are a committed and exceptionally hardworking team who aspire to provide the best pastoral and educational experiences. We are very proud of our pupils and their many successes and achievements both within and outside the classroom. We have a commitment to developing the whole child and regularly celebrate sporting, dance and musical achievements.
Our parents are extremely supportive and work together with the school to help move us forward. The staff are supported, encouraged and challenged by the school's Governors, who are dedicated to ensuring every child has the opportunities to reach their full potential. We also have a thriving Parents Association who volunteer their time organising a range of social activities which bring parents and the local community together, raising money for the school. We have developed and sustained strong community links, especially with St Luke’s Church and receive weekly visits from Rev Alan Betts who regularly leads worship.
The school operates an “open-door” policy and parents who wish to communicate with their child’s class teacher are able to do so at the beginning or at the end of the school day. We provide monthly newsletters, induction meetings, curriculum workshops for parents, weekly celebration assemblies, class assemblies and special lunch events which help to create opportunities to work in partnership with our parents and share with them our successes.
We hope that the information on our website will answer some of your initial questions. However, if you would like to see our school in action, please contact the school office to arrange a visit.
Mrs K Jacklin
St Luke’s Church of England Primary School is a good school. Pupils take pride in their school. They feel safe and are confident that staff take their concerns seriously. Behaviour is good, both in classes and around the school, and pupils attend school regularly. They are sensitive to the feelings of others and this is reflected in the way they treat each other.
